This poem was written directly after a screening of John Wick on Warwick Film and Television Studies’ Transnational Action Cinema module, in a Warwick Writing Programme Practice of Poetry seminar. The author, Annabel Spinks-Jones, also created the above mixed media illustration.
John Wick
by Annabel Spinks-Jones
You think it’s over but it’s just begun
Revenge demands of you a smoking gun
You thought that you could simply stab his neck
But this vendetta isn’t over yet
You soak your hands with colours Valentine
Remember days with her, sublime
Sand running through your hands like ti-
-’tening fingers on the trigger,
Bang!
